Build with SmartFlow
For roofing membrane manufacturers, drainage system manufacturers, and system integrators evaluating SmartFlow for distribution or integration — candid answers to the technical due-diligence questions we hear most often.
OEM & technical due-diligence FAQ
Straight answers for partner evaluations. For anything not covered here, ask us directly.
Can the valve and sensor package be OEM?
Yes. SmartFlow’s controller and valve package is structured to support OEM partnerships.
Does it work with standard drain systems (Zurn, Wade, Josam, MIFAB, siphonic systems)?
SmartFlow is designed to retrofit onto the existing roof drainage outlet without structural change. Confirm exact fitting compatibility with your specific drain hardware as part of a technical evaluation; we support integration reviews with roofing and drainage manufacturers.
Is the intelligence edge-based or cloud-dependent?
Safety-critical logic (default-open failover, maximum retention cap) runs locally on the device and does not depend on cloud connectivity. Forecast-based release optimization uses cloud connectivity for weather data; without it, the system operates safely as a passive roof outlet.
What is the fully installed cost per drain?
Contact us for current unit economics; we quote per drain, not per building, for OEM and volume discussions.
Are there patents around the control logic?
A patent application is in progress covering our specific control mechanism (active retention control without an added storage layer). We view certifications, field performance data, and regulatory relationships as equally important defensibility alongside patents.
